Math and Chemistry
A couple of years ago I was occupied with the modeling of chromatography peaks of chemical analysis. Especially the skewedness of peaks. like in the picture shows.
Now I came a cross one possible solution to model this behaviour mathematically. Which is pictured in the next rough sketch:
Basically this is a sinus on a circular drums edge.
And it turns out that the basic formula for this is:
sin (nD*cos (alpha))
Now we can clearly see the skewedness of the individual peaks. so this is a valid approach/modeling of skewed chromatography peaks.
which looks very similar to this next real chromatography peak that I analyses somewhere a while ago.
Now there is a nother similar methode to model chromatograph peaks, or just skewed peaks in general:
But there is another method to model skewed peaks: which I will mention later.
